I am probably the only person in Sweden that haven´t been to Gotland, our biggest island in the Baltic Sea, until just now. Home again after 5 intense days and a wedding (sounds like a movie title, right?!) and are, like rest of the Swedes, in love with this absolutley beautiful part of the country. The […]

TriBeCa Pentahouse/The Greenwich Hotel

Designer Axel Vervoordt and architect Tatsuro Miki used the ancient Japanese aesthetic sense of wabi to create a meditative haven atop The Greenwich Hotel — owned by Robert De Niro and Ira Drukier — in TriBeCa, NY. The top-level penthouse is designed to integrate as much as possible into the nineteenth century industrial neighborhood, using local materials, such as stone and […]

Koysan Guest House

The Koyasan Guest House is the creation of Kyoto-based architects Kentaro Takeguchi and Asako Yamamoto of Alphaville Architects and offers two accommodation options for travellers. Here you can choose to stay in either a traditional bedroom or the  capsule-style dormitory rooms built above and below one-another and line a communal hallway. The Temple Hotel,Beijing

If you´re heading to Beijing you should check out the The Temple Hotel, winner of the 2012 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation. Located close to the Forbidden City, this small boutique hotel is housed inside what was once a temple, built about 600 years ago. The building was renovated retaining the original materials to […]

Ett Hem – I´m sorry but I just have to rave on a little bit more about this fabulous hotel! The staff, the food (Thank you Jeanette Mix for the lovely Champagne), the products in the beautiful spa, our room, all the rooms!  Yes, I could go on and on but I won´t bore you. […]

Preview Rörbäck

In a couple of weeks we will get our planning permission from the municipel office. We are now getting closer to our desire and goal; to fill the gap between a boutique hotel and Airbnb. A house with high architectural value and design in a fantastic setting.

Ecork Hotel

In the Portugese area Évora lays this new hotel that boasts 56 private residences, fine dining, and a spa and gym complex. This might not be my kind of hotel but I love the fact that the architect José Carlos Cruz has used the local and traditional material cork as a thermal and acoustic isolator.
