Feathers, feathers, feathers

These absolutely stunning feather sculptures are made by the London based artist Kate MccGwire who to me was unknown until today. The fantastical forms are made from thousands of wing and tail feathers gathered from many birds including those of pigeon, magpie, goose, teal, pheasant, duck and woodcock, collected and sent by mail from farmers and pigeon racers. I´m in awe, and her name is now engraved in my brain.
